Tool replication

our group includes Piter, Nastia and Jenny, we are building a mechanical machine using analog to laser cutting machine.  The cutting process based on laser cutter element mounted on x,y axis which allows the laser to navigate over the whole plan of the material beneath. The machine allows to create a 2d forms, and also 3d forms which are combined from 2d forms.

My project definition

My Project definition: to create soundscape expressing the Ultrasound.

The gradient concept express the basic principle of ultrasound qualities, what led me to design a space that reflects gradation

The purpose of the project design: attract the attention to metapatterns as one of the binary family, filtering the yarkon river in gradual separate of dirty and clean water, by doing this effect on the surround environment of the site gradually as well.

Also, the purpose to emphasize the gradient relationships proceeding  in space, the gradient changes which lead to understanding of nonexistent start/end point of the process,

There is an interaction between gradation flow parts; every formation created depends accordingly to situation exists before.

The process of finding new metapaterns in space is endless, so the variable form of absorption of the space.

Anyway, the part we apply to, creates the understanding of our space.

This perception based on conclusions after creating an animation during the project, which demonstrate the gradual vision of the site,(space), during simulation of the ultrasound work. The gradation recognizable in morphological transformation levels of the objects that turn slowly during motion from bright to dark, from sharp to smooth and blurry depends on depth distant -meaning the proximity to the ultrasound wave.

This awareness appear while using the digital media, in particular   “z-buffering” render, which manage objects depth coordinates in tree-dimensional space in digital reality. It presents the object’s distance in monochrome grayscale colors, from white to black and formal transformation from sharp to smooth until the absolute disappearances in the darkness.

Consider the research about bats as users of ultrasound to navigate in space, I discovered there are moments of completely darkness, while the ultrasound wave releases and returns bat have to connect intuitively the space images puzzle in order to understand the whole spatial picture around.

This leads to assumption that space appears in gradation and slowly create the whole image of the unique new space around

letter to bat

Dear bat,

I love the way you see the world in completely different form from what I know.

Instead of seeing you feel, touch the world around you.

Your Ultrasound wave functions as echo, and enables you to know the distance of objects, materials around.

After each beat the darkness dissolves, and the brightness and contrast of objects in space appear.

Like photographs of noncontiguous sections in motion, the monochrome images perceived by the bat connect together to yield a new space.

The phenomenon of reality around you reveled in flashes and disappears; the pieces of the puzzle are connected intuitively, in order to understand the spatial image around despite the missing gaps.

In complete darkness you see everything as it is, monochrome, an echo is released and reveals what appeared on its way.

When I follow your path in my imagination, everything is looks clear and sharp until it slowly becomes blurry and curvy until the background becomes dark and slowly disappears.

You navigate blindly in the dark, guided by Ultrasound, while every move causes a new surprising space. Fragments of space connect and a unique new space is created.

Animation2

Animation of the new site, composed from every 20th frame, from animation 1.

The reason I decide to cat animation1, was based on fact that bats reduce ultrasound waves to navigate in space, and to see the image of space around them. The time it takes to ultrasound wave return to bat (it works like echo), bat don’t see anything.

This animation express the surprise effect of seeing the unexpected image of space.

Animation Z-depth – “Namir Bridge”

Criticism of my tutors about my project

1. Can I design for bats?

Do I know enough about bats I design for them?

2. There are points when I take decisions that need to explain more than Ultrasound,

-To explain more about Z-depth render.

-To show analiticly in presentation how does it works.

3. Build the Namir Bridge from Ultrasound view.

- To find the motif cause, for who am I building the cave, and why is that?

4. Create animation.

- Relating how does the image of space looks in front of me, and back – after I passed the place.

5. I need to find the main focus points, and to concentrate on them.

- Try to understand the research about  Namir Bridge, the motion within.

6. The laser model should be three-dimensional and not linear, in the future.

7. To uploud the moveis which show tne bats in the Namir Bridge in day and night.
